Skills & automations
Build your first skill (5 min)
Pick one task you do at least weekly. Then in Claude Code:
Research the best [topic] experts in the world
— Blair Enns, Alan Weiss, Sandler, whoever is known for this.
Pull their frameworks.
Create a skill file called [name] that:
- Greets me and asks the 3-5 intake questions
- Applies the frameworks
- Outputs the finished [thing] in [format]
Save it as a skill I can trigger with /[name].
Run it
/proposal-writer
Client: café owner in Cebu. Wants to grow social media.
Budget: ₱15,000/month. 3-month engagement.
Build these first (in order)
/proposal-writer— intake questions, framework, draft./client-report— raw numbers + context → written report./weekly-content— the map → kill → draft → edit loop./voice-review— checks a draft against the brand voice, flags drift./meeting-notes— transcript → decisions + next actions.
Automations (schedule-triggered)
Zapier / Make / GHL triggers Claude, keeps a human in the loop. Good starters:
- New lead lands in CRM → Claude drafts welcome email → you approve → send.
- Weekly trigger → Claude pulls last week's post performance → emails you a recap.
- New client form submission → Claude drafts a tailored onboarding kit.
Don't
- Build 30 skills before using 3.
- Chain automations no human reviews.
- Tool-hop before the basics pay back.
Rule
Done it 3 times with the same setup? Save it as a skill. Immediately.
